When I try to shut it down or restart using the "start" menu, it hangs in the "Shutting Down" state and I have to press the power button to get it to turn off. Also, I sometimes have a problem when I try to put the computer in "sleep" mode.

It continues to run and the "moon" sleep signal on the computer blinks, but the screen is black. I have looked at the device manager and it appears my drives are all up-t0-date.
